Anthony S. Fauci Receives 2020 Gustav O. Lienhard Award for Advancement of Health Care

The Lienhard Award honors outstanding achievement in improving personal health care services in the United States. The award was established in 1986 by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in honor of Gustav O. Lienhard, a long-serving chair of RWJF’s board of trustees.

The 2020 award honors Anthony Fauci for his role as a leader of federal research and policy on infectious diseases and, in particular, for his deft, scientifically grounded leadership in shaping an effective response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stephen Hinshaw Receives 2020 Rhoda and Bernard Sarnat International Prize in Mental Health

The Sarnat Prize honors outstanding achievement in improving mental health, recognizing achievements in basic science, clinical application, and public policy that lead to progress in the understanding, etiology, prevention, treatment, or cure of mental disorders or the promotion of mental health.

The 2020 recipient of the Sarnat Prize is Stephen Hinshaw, who is being recognized for his basic and applied research on individuals with externalizing disorders, and for his efforts to reduce mental illness stigma through youth-based programs and to promote humanization.
